Located at the centre of the quintessentially Norfolk coastal village of Blakeney, Yew Tree Cottage is a charming traditional brick and flint cottage. Near to the bustling harbour yet tucked away from the main street, this idyllic hideaway offers a magnificent experience of what coastal life used to be like in this stunning area of Norfolk.

Beautifully constructed from traditional materials, Yew Tree Cottage has been lovingly curated to blend original features with modern conveniences. With original artworks and sculptures displayed throughout, the cottage perfectly embodies contemporary living by the coast. The expertly designed bespoke galley kitchen boasts oak worktops and is well-equipped with modern appliances. Parquet flooring leads through to the serene dining room with seating available for four guests around a delightful farmhouse table. The sitting room offers ample comfortable seating appointed with a cosy wood burning stove. For warmer summer days, the door opens to a courtyard garden. Typical for cottages of this era, the bathroom is located on the ground floor, and features a bath with shower over.

The original cottage stairs to the first floor are very steep, but offer a sensor light and hand rail. Upstairs, the master bedroom is comfortable and romantic, styled with attractive furnishings to compliment the original features, including an ornamental fireplace and wood panelled latched doors. This room boasts a king-size bed dressed with sumptuous bedding and fine linens. Decorated with a coastal theme, the second bedroom hosts twin beds. Located on a loke (lane) with no passing traffic, guests are guaranteed a peaceful sleep.

Outside, the fully enclosed courtyard garden offers table and chairs with an accompanying charcoal barbecue. Please see Additional Information for parking advice. Yew Tree Cottage is set back from the High Street off a small loke, we recommend that you don’t try and reverse into the loke to unload, it’s very tight.

Set back off the main street yet located close to Blakeney harbour, a mere one minute walk leads to the village quay, pubs and amenities. Yew Tree Cottage is ideally located as a base from which to explore this area of the coast which boasts an exceptional culinary scene, picturesque villages and stunning beaches.

Blakeney is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. At the heart is Blakeney National Nature Reserve with wide open spaces and uninterrupted views of the coastline, ideal for walking and spotting local wildlife including seals and migratory birds. Blakeney offers plenty of opportunities to sample local produce with a fantastic deli located in the village. After a long walk, reward yourself with a sweet treat from Two Magpies Bakery. Head out for a day's sea fishing, gilly for crab on the harbour, swim, kayak or paddleboard through the creek, or join a seal spotting trip from neighbouring Morston.

Food lovers are spoilt for choice. Book in to sample the delectable tasting menu at the Michelin starred Morston Hall, or lunch at the The White Horse at Blakeney. A short trip to The Gunton Arms offers a truly exceptional dining experience, as does the popular Wiveton Bell.

The nearby village of Cley is famous for its 18th century windmill and fine coastal walks through the Norfolk Wildlife Trust reserve at Cley Marshes. Further along the coast, the village of Stiffkey is renowned for its saltmarsh, one of the country’s richest in wildlife. Just a twenty-minute drive away, Wells-next-the-Sea is a hub for North Norfolk coastal activities. From the picturesque harbour, where gillying for crabs is a must, you can walk, drive or catch the beach bus to the spectacular beach with its famous array of colourful beach huts and pine forest. Wells features a flurry of independent shops, cafes, restaurants galleries, arcades, and some of the best fish 'n' chips in the area.

Or for landlubbers, exploration of a stately home makes a grand day out. Holkham Estate, Hindringham Hall and Gardens, and Walsingham Abbey are all a mere car journey away. The lovely little towns of Holt and Sheringham are also just a short drive away (or coast hopper bus to Sheringham and Cromer).
