It's not the first time Fender offers a special edition of their famous guitar models, but this Limited Edition American Longboard Stratocaster is truly exceptional. The first thing you'll notice is probably the beautiful ash body, which sports marvellous inlays of different wood types (walnut, ash, rosewood and mahogany). Of course, the designers at Fender chose not to hide any part of the beautiful body under a pickguard. The fixed bridge is also a long way from standard and gives this electric guitar a sound that is all its own. The cover on the back - which you usually can't see through - is made of Perspex, allowing you to see the back of the pickups.
Sound
The ash body produces a balanced tone that is greatly complemented by the rosewood fretboard on the maple neck. And it's not just the wood that is of top-grade quality, the hardware and electronics on this guitar are also nothing if not excellent. The HSS pickup configuration comprises two Fender Noiseless single-coils (that produce that legendary Strat sparkle, without the typical 50Hz hum or static) and a humbucker designed by pickup guru Tim Shaw.
