For all of our chunky glitter dip powders, we recommend pouring the dip powder into a cupcake liner and dip by laying your nail flat on top- this is how we make our swatches too! After dipping, use your finger (you can use a plastic bag to protect your finger if you want) to push the glitter flat before the base dries; this will help ensure flatter glitters. After 2-3 layers of glitter dip, cap with 1-2 layers of clear before buffing and filing. This will protect your glitter while still allowing you to achieve a smooth finish. For all of our flakey dip powders, we recommend using whatever method you prefer for your first two dips (lay flat, dip right into the powder, pour over, etc). For your third dip (or final layer of color if you use more than 3, we recommend pouring the dip powder into a cupcake liner and gently tapping the side to bring some extra flakes to the top- there's plenty in there, we promise! Then, dip by laying your nail flat on top to adhere extra flakes to your top layer. After your final layer of color, apply a layer of clear before buffing and filing to protect your flakes! For fine glitter dip powders, we recommend dipping right into the powder or pouring the dip powder into a cupcake liner and dip by laying your nail flat on top, both these methods have allowed us to get even glitter coverage. For any glitter dip, we recommend applying with 1-2 layers of clear over the glitter before buffing and filing. This will protect your glitter while still allowing you to achieve a smooth finish. For solid/shimmer colors, we've had equal success dipping right into the powder, using the lay flat method, and using the pour over method. For toppers with sporadic glitter pieces, it is sometimes helpful to tap the cupcake liner until you find an arrangement of glitter you like, then lay your nail on that spot. For toppers with chunky glitter, we do recommend a final layer of clear before buffing and filing to protect the glitter.
