The D1 is silver plated and it may wear off over time and the copper colored metal under it will show.

The D2 & D3 doesn't have this happen as it is the same material all the way through the bangle without a plating.

D2 and D3 difference is where the wires meet and the charms hang. The D2 is a single wrap and D3 has 3 wraps to close it. It doesn't change the strength or security of the bangle, it is purely a cosmetic preference.

Most charms are a plated zinc metal alloy. The manufacturer takes a variety of melted metals and forms them into the shape. They are then covered with a silver colored coating. The coating could wear off over time due to rubbing on clothing, excessive cleaning and scrubbing or exposure to water.

Some of the charms are stainless steel.

None of the charms are sterling silver.
