Adapt To Low-Light

The XF50mmF1.0 R WR has a huge and bright maximum aperture which enables a seamless transition when ambient light starts to fade away. This wide F1.0 aperture allows you to experiment and be confident in your photography in low-light conditions, drawing in way more light than other XF prime lenses. Having such a wide aperture also means that you can keep your ISO settings low, resulting in detail-rich images with much less noise associated with higher ISO settings. Or, you can combine the max F1.0 aperture with a high ISO sensitivity to gather in as much light as possible for specific low-light applications, such as astrophotography.

Ultimate Depth-of-Field Control

As we know, a wide aperture lets you control the amount of light coming into the lens and from there on, how much light hits the sensor. Not only this, but an aperture is also used to control depth of field - The wider the aperture, the more control over DOF you will have. When using the XF50mmF1.0 R WR at or close to its max F1.0 aperture, you'll be able to produce an impressively narrow depth-of-field, precisely separating your subject from the background. This is particularly effective when shooting portraiture - specifically for selecting an area of a face e.g. the eye. Despite this being an ideal lens for portraiture, it's also great for street photography allowing you to isolate specific parts of your scene. The aperture has been precisely engineered - Would you expect any less from Fujifilm? It has a rounded diaphragm which helps to produce large and beautifully smooth bokeh, adding that professional look to the images and videos you take.

Expert Lens Construction

The XF 50mm F1.0 R WR is made up of 12 lens elements in nine groups and that includes one aspherical element and two ED elements. Together, these elements bring complete and optimal control of spherical aberrations that would otherwise plague images taken with lesser lenses. It equipped with a powerful DC autofocus motor which in turn provides fast, accurate and near-silent autofocus acquisition even when shooting at the maximum F1.0 aperture! If you're already an X-Series user you'll know about the fantastic Face/Eye AF functions; but if not, you should know that these functions are impressively accurate and a joy to use. This is highlighted when combining the XF 50mm F1.0 R WR lens with an X-Series camera, like theFujifilm X-T4. But of course, there are times when you want full control - Full manual focus control when shooting videos etc. The focus ring on this lens provides 120° of rotation that enables precise control and a fast transition throughout the entire focus range.
