"Henllys was a mixed bag."
As a group of over 60s on a walking holiday, we had a very enjoyable week overall. The house has plenty of space, the beds are comfortable and the showers/baths/loos all work well. It was obvious that the house had been cleaned but the oven was very dirty and the single beds covered hair and other detritus. We needed to clean some of the ancient cutlery before using it. The owner replaced a damaged kettle for us. Outside, there was an obvious lack of care - recycling and rubbish had not been collected - parts of the garden were overgrown or untidy - surrounding farm buildings are in disrepair. Two items of rustic furniture collapsed beneath us. This is a large, spacious property in peaceful countryside with glorious views. It has huge potential for development and could be lovely. It isn't there yet but it can still be an effective base for a group or large family holiday.
