Knitting pattern for lace shawl

This lace knit shawl pattern is a lot of fun to create - perfect for a lightweight prayer shawl. I designed this pattern to be knit with 2 yarns - one a multi color and the other a solid. You could knit the shawl in one color if you don't want to do the color changes. The yarns I used were Caron Simply Soft for the solid and Hobby Lobby I Love this Yarn in the multi color. You need one skein of each so this is a great stash buster project if you have a skein of this and a skein of that and you forgot what you were going to make with them and need a project.

This pattern is knit on size US 11 needles so it goes fairly quickly - unless you are like me and have about 3 projects at all times you are working on... The patterns features a lace stitch and garter rows. I have included a table in the pattern to keep track of rows. I would classify this pattern as an advanced beginner to intermediate level. You will need to know how to knit, purl, yarn over, and purl 2 together to complete this pattern.

This shawl is approx. 70 inches long by 16 inches wide. It is one size and those measurements are laying out flat - the wrap is pretty stretchy. This wrap can also be worn as a wide scarf as seen in the last photo above.
