31 Customer Reviews

  • "This was the ideal property for us, 5 adults and 4 older teenagers although it has a quirky layout."

The situation is ideal, close to town, restaurants and railway station. There were also pleasant walks in the park and along the canal. We loved the hot tub and who would have thought we would be sitting outside in December enjoying Christmas Drinks. We had a meal at the Rhubarb restaurant next door and thoroughly enjoyed it. Altogether a very successful experience.

Step back outside and wander into the stunning annex, housing two individual sitting rooms, one for those chilly evenings infront of a log burning stove lounging on a quirky swinging sofa, the other for a night infront of the 65” smart TV.

There is also a shower room in this building for further convenience.

Return to the main house and take your pick from five immaculate bedrooms, each of which has been thoughtfully decorated with plush furnishings, Smart TVs, individually controlled heating, and beds draped in white linen, so sleeping is sure to come easy here.

On the ground floor rests two super-king/twin bedrooms with en-suite double shower rooms and private access to the outside, whilst upstairs offers a spacious family suite of two adjoining rooms with twin beds, and a king-size bed and en-suite double shower, a super-king-size bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room.

It is clear to see the quality of this property inside and out. Often regarded as ‘The Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales’, it’s no surprise that Skipton is a popular choice with holidaymakers.

Stroll through its quaint streets, browsing the independent shops in search for a gift to take home, admiring the colourful barges that drift along the canal or stopping off for a bite to eat in a quirky tea room or coffee shop.

There is also a traditional market that sells fresh produce throughout the year, such as local cheeses, fish, meat, and fresh vegetables.

Great for both the leisure and the active break, choose from a tour around the famous Skipton castle, or a cycle ride on the route of the Tour de Yorkshire.

Hop on board the Settle Carlisle Railway - starting from Skipton station, or uncover the natural beauty at Stepping Stones, Bolton Abbey and The Strid Ancient Woodland.

Grassington - the village of “All Creatures Great and Small” - is on your doorstep, as is Malham Cove, Janets’ Foss and many other frequently televised locations.

The Yorkshire Dales has an abundance of wooded forests, valleys full of hay meads, drystone walls and barns and many attractive towns and villages.

This first-class holiday home ticks all the boxes for a superb getaway.

About the location

SKIPTON

Grassington 9 miles; Harrogate 20 miles.

Known as “The Gateway to the Dales”, Skipton is well placed for visiting all that the Dales has to offer, whilst York, the Lake District and the West Coast are also within easy motoring distance. This lovely market town has much to interest the enthusiastic visitor, boasting an ancient castle open to the public, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. In 2014, The Sunday Times named Skipton as Britain's "best place to live" and two years later placed it among the nine best towns in Yorkshire and the North-East. Steam railways with regular excursions are available at Embsay and Bolton Abbey, and the Leeds to Liverpool Canal passes through Skipton with the 1 mile long Foulridge Tunnel and the 5-rise locks at Bingley within a short travel. Golf, swimming, squash, tennis and snooker are all available locally and the excellent public transport means the car can be left at home!
