Part of our project at Made with Love Urban Farm is to rescue the unwanted fruit and botanicals in our local eco-system and turn them into gorgeous preserves to care for this naturally abundant harvest. Secwepemcúĺecw has abundant local fruit and has historically been a fruit farm agricultural zone to settlers. So many abandoned fruit trees exist and wild fruit is in abundance along the river and lake shores in the Shuswap. We grow many fruits organically in our own permaculture faerie food forest... peach, nectarine, heritage green gage plum, apple, pear, cherry, rowan, mulberry, wild cherry, raspberry, blackberry, strawberry, blueberry, spruce berry, tamarack berry, fir tips & cones, rowan berry, red and black currant, saskatoon berry, apricot, rosehip, concord grape, just to name a few... and we harvest only unsprayed, natural, wild and rescue fruit that has been grown organically.
