Schooner Bay Co. is a small mid-Atlantic, family-owned business. Our family has always had an interest in American history and antiques. We started full-time business in 1990, focusing primarily on marketing our large collection of black & white historic photographs to historic sites, museum shops, and gift shops. We eventually branched out into designing antique reproduction home decor and artwork. From 1990 until 2018 we built our business as a wholesale endeavor and had a total of 5 employees.

In 2018, we jumped headfirst into the world of online retail sales. We opened the Etsy shop and discovered that Etsy customers really love our products! Business grew quickly. We added several family members and other employees to the team to help create, market, and ship the products to get them out the door on time! We have two full-time and one part-time maker, two full-time shippers, as well as several full and part-time employees who support the business in multiple ways.

We make all of our framed artwork in-house in East Berlin, PA. We utilize production partners from India and China for our other reproductions. We design our wood, bone, iron, glass, porcelain, and brass items based on antiques that we find, and communities of artisans create them for us in small batches. All products are handmade: casting a brass piece one-by-one, hand-applying transfers to our porcelain transferware, building each wooden writing box, carving ox-bone, etc.
