Rimwang The River Life, hotel in Sai Yok

Located in Sai Yok, 24 km from Hellfire Pass Museum, Rimwang The River Life provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a terrace.

Location of the stay was perfect, easy to find by Google maps with sheltered parking onsite. We were met by staff who checked us in and showed us the room and arranged breakfast for the following day. Right on the river, the room had a balcony where you could sit and dip your feet into the cool water. In the early morning, there are fish swimming beside the balcony, and you can feed them with fish food provided. The room was clean, AC worked well, bathroom spotless, and a comfy bed. The room had a mini fridge, coffee, and water. Breakfast was tasty and hot, and we sat right by the river on our balcony whilst eating. Overall, we loved it. What a great stay.

The Float House River Kwai - SHA Extra Plus, hotel in Sai Yok

Floating atop the scenic River Kwai, this unique Thai folk-style resort is surrounded by tropical forests and mountains of Saiyoke.

This is a special Thailand experience. I have lived here 20 years as a foreigner and rank this experience in my top three. But it’s not for everyone and don’t expect it’s a top tier city 5 star. It is remote and will take a min 4 hours from Bangkok ( forget google estimates). When you come to this resort and unless you have transport you need to be prepared to stay there as there are no other options for entertainment, eating or convenience store type supplies. Put that aside and if you love scenery, swimming, rafting, relaxing and a quiet setting you will love it. Prices in the restaurant are very reasonable but don’t expect a 5 star menu in the jungle. Finally please also note it’s not for young children as all rooms have direct access to the river.

Yayee Homestay, hotel in Sai Yok

Set a 5-minute walk from Sai Yok Noi Waterfall, Yayei Homestay offers accommodation with free WiFi. Guests can enjoy Thai massage on site. Each room features air conditioning and a TV.

The people here are amazing. So friendly and kind, you feel like part of the family. Their food was delicious, they had a taxi truck with driver available for our excursions, and the natural setting was lovely. The accommodations are simple but clean, and the air con worked well. And it's only a few minutes walk from the Nam Tok Railway Station. We also noticed many efforts at sustainability, including buildings set up around trees (rather than tree removal), collection of rainwater, repurposed coconut shells as planters, and a lot more. We loved it here and never wanted to leave! PS one morning we asked for pancakes and they didn't have any but they must have gone to the market for us because when we returned to the accommodations mid-afternoon they'd made us the most delicious pancakes as a snack. They're just an absolutely lovely family running this place.

I travelled to Sai Yok by car, so was able to explore the area easily. I didn't book any organised trips. Sai Yok National Park was worth the Foreigner price - the waterfalls were easily accessible, and if I was younger and fitter I would have been able to spend a long time wandering about. I refused to pay the foreigner price for Lawa Cave, as did the Western family with four children who arrived at the same time. I did not feel that the experience would be worth it, and for the family it would have been extremely expensive. Thin Lin Hot Springs, however, charges the same price for everyone. Affordable for Thai people and an absolute bargain for Westerners. The pools are tiled, so do not look natural, but it is very clean and a beautiful place. There is a roped off area in the nearby river, so it is possible to swim and paddle safely without fear of being swept away. The current is very strong. The area is very beautiful and quite unspoilt. I recommend it for those wanting a peaceful, back to nature type of holiday.

The activities on offer at the hotel were extremely expensive. 1,500 baht to hire a canoe for 30 mines. A trip to the River Kwai bridge with my partner diet 6,00 baht!!!! The noise from the cicadas was deafening and no one mentioned that it was mating season on the website. It was far too noisy to use the pool facilities.

This place is absolutely GREAT! We enjoyed every second of our trip there. Tip: Be prepared to do a little bit of hiking around there, it's not super easy to get to the top layers. But it is SO worth is :)

A great place and the entire Kanchanaburi Province are a very good choice for a few days. A scooter in the city can be grasped for 2 lines and explore everything. The province has a lot of historical luggage, so history lovers will find a lot. There is little here, for example, in Bangkok, and a lot of what you want from such a trip. If you don't want to see and be where everyone doesn't read most bloggers. Fire up the map itself on Google and Discovery.

A naturally pleasant contrast and counterpoint to the hustle and bustle of River Khwae Bridge / Konchanaburi area. Well worth exploring simply by following Road 323 right up to the Myanmar border.
