About this property

Lake Lodge Studio is the perfect romantic hideaway for a couple who love the great outdoors. Part of the owners’ home, yet completely self-contained the studio has its own pretty garden with decked patio and luxurious hot tub.

The owners have considered every detail when designing this fabulous space, and nothing has been left out. There is private parking for 1 car, and up to three pets are welcome to enjoy the laid-back vibe. Entering through a pretty conservatory which overlooks the garden, the open-plan living space has been cleverly planned and has everything needed for a perfect break.

Wood panelling gives the studio a welcoming and cosy feel, and the feature bed is the perfect spot for lazy mornings and early nights reading or watching TV. The dining area is positioned by the window to make the most of the view, and compact kitchen has everything needed for a hearty breakfast or evening meal. A separate shower room has shower, basin and wc. Outside there is a space to sit and dine al-fresco, and of course there is the outdoor jacuzzi to enjoy.

The property is just two miles from lively Bowness with its restaurants, tea-rooms and shops, yet has a feeling of seclusion and total privacy. This is a very special and unique property for those looking for somewhere rather special.

The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter attraction and the Old Laundry theatre are 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells. Brockhole, which offers high wire tree top experiences, is less than two miles away, and the historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Troutbeck are a short drive away. There are also a variety of watersports on offer for the more energetic at marine centres along the lake. The area is ideally situated for exploring all that this region has to offer, whether by foot, bike, car, railway or bus; and is within easy reach of attractions such as the spectacular Langdales, Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top House at Far Sawrey, Coniston, Grizedale Forest Park, with its delightful walks and famous outdoor sculptures, mountain biking and “Go-Ape” adventure park, Ullswater, Kendal, Keswick, stone circles, Roman forts and England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike.

The Studio has dangerous electrics, old appliances. We were told not to put hob and shower on at same time as it would trip electrics. The Studio was freezing cold. Outside there are loose paving stones and decking boards. Decking boards are old and slippery. Many trip hazards and height hazards. Unlit walkway at night, unable to see steps. Very dangerous. Hot Tub does not comply with current regulations. Owner and Sykes Cottages unwilling to help and oblivious of any problems

Hot tub was fantastic and great views. We felt very lucky to have picked this, made the holiday great. Good location, 5min drive into Bowness with free parking, ferries, loads of pubs, restaurants and shops. Does feature a big (but very friendly and behind a fence) dog, steep driveway and stepped access, but perfect if that wouldn’t impact your stay. Thank you for a great holiday - would definitely recommend it!

The pictures don't do it justice! Lovely big cosy bed and we enjoyed the hot tub every night and felt private due to the way the cover sits it blocks the windows. Excellent location not far from most local towns and hikes. Our dog loved the garden and having the conservatory helped the place feel more spacious.
