A mission to share the joy of knitting

That Crafty Stitch was created during a time in my life where I was struggling, I was suffering with depression and had lost the joy in life. I re-connected with knitting during this time whilst clearing out my cupboards! I soon fell in love with the therapeutic rhythm of the stitches and it helped me to focus on what I was doing with my hands instead of worrying about things outside of my control going on in my head.

I noticed there was a lack of true beginner knitting kits, patterns and tutorials out there, and an idea was born! My mission is to spark creativity and share the joy of knitting with as many people as possible.

Knitting (and any rhythmic craft) has fantastic mindfulness benefits and can really help with improving our mental health. Once you have learnt the basics and your muscle memory takes over the meditative state that knitting instigates can actually release serotonin in our brains!! Incredible I know!
