CROCHET PATTERNS, HAT PATTERNS BLANKET PATTERNS & MORE
Hi my name is Kerry, I am happily married with three beautiful grown up children and I live in a beautiful coastal town in Dorset, UK. I am a crochet pattern designer and create crochet baby hats, crochet adult hats, crochet cowls, crochet blankets and all sorts of colourful patchwork and crochet patterns.

My patterns are unique. My passion is to design top quality and easy to follow crochet patterns, including lots of details and photo tutorials to show you exactly where to place your hook and change your colour. I also include a stitch guide to explain how to make any stitch used in the pattern. I grade most of my patterns as 'Easy' If you can make basic stitches you will be able to follow my patterns :-)

I learned to crochet and knit when I was 12 years old by my grandmother and her sisters who all lived together. I loved going round to visit their cosy little house after school, to sit in front of the warm open coal fire, being spoilt by three little old ladies with hot chocolate, biscuits and my 'crochet lessons'.
I remember there was always little piles of tiny weeny baby cardigans and hats neatly piled on the arms of the chair, freshly knitted that day. I remember the sound of their needles clicking as they all worked and chattered away! :-) They are very happy memories and perhaps thats why I still have the love and passion for it today.

I studied interior design and worked for many years designing and making soft furnishings.

During that time I decided that I would like to do something totally different and became a full time foster carer, mainly caring for babies from birth. Many babies would arrive with no clothes of their own, perhaps just an oversized babygrow and a hospital hat and blanket. I soon set about knitting and crocheting hats and blankets in every colour and before long each baby was warm and snug in my little handknits.
When each baby 'moved on' I tucked their little pile of woolies and their 'special blankie' into their memory box.
I love the thought of them, one day, opening their memory boxes and discovering their little hand knitted clothes and knowing just how much they were loved :-) xx

I so enjoyed caring for the children and wouldn't have changed a moment of it but after 7 years of sleepless nights, I needed some 'me time' and I resumed my hobbies with a passion!
I had gained a great deal of experience in the baby knitting and crocheting department and decided that I would like to try to move my crocheting and sewing skills from a hobby to a business.
After discovering Etsy whilst searching the web I knew that this was the perfect place for me to open my shop and thus Kerry Jayne Designs was born!

So now you will find me sitting in amonst a pile of wool and surrounded by colourful fabrics!
I still love little piles of knitwear and love to sit in front of my cosy log burner teaching my own girls to crochet :-)
My shop opened in Dec 2013.
