Property information

Castello di Fulignano is an ancient fortress that dates back to the 10th Century, restored and refurbished into an elegant country resort with a total of 12 self catering apartments, On this website we feature 4 of these apartments. The other 8 apartments are privately owned and advertized separately. We are located in one of the most panoramic hills looking out to the Val d’Elsa valley and San Gimignano, that is in view from the apartments and from the swimming pool. Castello di Fulignano is also set along one of the tracks of “Via Francigena”, the ancient pilgrim road linking the North of Europe with Rome. In its century long history, strictly connected to the medieval power of San Gimignano, the castle’s rooms hosted feudatories, nobles and monks. To reach us there're 3.5km of white road. At disposition of our guests we have a large patio with tables, chairs and umbrellas for outdoor meals as well as the extra large swimming pool open April to October (10m x 20m / depth: 1.20m to 2.80m). The apartments are fully equipped with a kitchen and utensils to cook. The restaurant on site, La Grotta di Fulignano serves delicious meals for dinner from Tuesday to Sunday. For breakfast and lunch whenever you don't feel like cooking, we will be pleased to share with you our deep knowledge of the area.

Neighbourhood information

Centrally located to reach in 30 minutes: Florence, Siena, Volterra, Pisa and the Chianti villages (Greve, Radda, Castellina). San Giminano is only 15 minutes away and the nearest town with a large selection of shops is just 7 minutes away. The 360 degrees views over the Valdelsa valley, one of the most picturesque in Tuscany is there for you to enjoy. Special activities in the area that we can book for you on request are: horse back outings in the countryside, balloon flight over the Chianti, wine and olive oil tasting, golf, private guided tours and many more...
