Hello and welcome to Other Worldly Soaps. My name is Louise McGinnis and I want to thank you for visiting my site. I started making soap over two years ago after my best friend gave me some handmade jasmine scented liquid soap and shaving cream. I have always had problems with some of the chemicals in other soap products and after trying hers I was ecstatic with the results. I loved the idea of being able to create my own bath soaps in fragrances I wanted with only the ingredients I felt were necessary. I started with glycerin based soaps because to be honest the idea of my son getting into lye scared me to death. My son is a bit of a Houdini. He can get into and out of everything without us knowing, but with that being said I did venture out on a limb and spread my wings. I love using both cold process and glycerin based soaps. You can do so many neat things that my mind wonders a lot.

You might be wondering about my company name. It comes from my love of all things other worldly. I am a big sci-fi/fantasy buff and reader. I love reading about far off places or how the magical world is right in front of us. My favorite books are urban fantasy. Where humans get to discover that things do go bump in the night or that they know about them already and how the public deals with the idea of this.
