I was looking forward to staying staying at an independent little motel. And the place was charming as could be. They were trying a new way of automatic check-in and it worked out. OK, I just had to call the phone number on the door. They were very proud of the remodeling the room that I was staying in. And they did ask me my advice on the TV which I thought was very thoughtful. I was a little surprised that they did the remodeling and left an old refrigerator in the room. I thought that would’ve been a nicer as well. The size was fine but old.

I am really short, the bed was high, a stool was already in the room!
We couldn’t have more than half an hour for extended checkout without paying. We have never had to pay for extra time before. Were given a half hour but were called at 15 minutes into to it to see when we were leaving. It didn’t seem that busy.

Good location adjacent to the Betsie River and Homestead dam where salmon can be spotted leaping upstream. Enjoyed the quiet, secluded setting and the dark night sky for stargazing. Close to a grocery store and town of Beulah. Owner was friendly and informative.

Perfect place to visit Frankfort and bike the Betsie Valley Trail right down the street. Close to town but quiet and very comfortable lodging with a well provided for kitchen for cooking. As a bonus a nice basket of quality snacks was provided. A+ all around.

Frankfort is a charming town right on Lake Michigan with a lovely beach--and a lighthouse! Historic preservation folks like myself will love it; there's even an old theater--in use! A number of nice restaurants of various kinds.

There is a convenient key box to check in, since we arrived at middle night and left in early morning. Hotel provided enough bottle water, so we did not really buy more water. Walking distance to beach so we could handout at the beach till 11 pm.

Love the town.
Love the town. Caters to visitors, but has its historic roots and events and festivals for locals. Plenty of shops and restaurants. Town is clean and takes pride in its maintenance. Beach is beautiful. A lot of benches and room for beach-goers. Love that the town was a popular destination, but not at all over-crowded. Nice coffee shops and a great local brewery.

It is a town that caters to boaters and wealthy people.
It is a town that caters to boaters and wealthy people. There is a good choice of retail storefronts selling beachwear, jewelry, home and kitchen goods and a good selection of places to dine, including a brewery. Parking is free and ample. A paved bike/run/walk trail along the Betsie river is a plus.
