Frequently asked questions
How do I store maple syrup?
Unopened bottles can be stored in the pantry. After a container has been opened it needs to be stored in the refrigerator. Unopened and opened containers can be stored in the freezer as well, further preserving the syrup. But if you have maple syrup containers hanging around after 2 years, you need to find a better pancake recipe!
How long does maple candy last?
Maple candy is never better than the day it is made. We make our maple candy weekly and rotate it off the rack every other week. Over time sugar candy will start to dry out. You can keep it in the fridge or the freezer to preserve freshness. A good general rule to follow is to get what you will consume as candy in a month’s time and use up any leftovers in a bowl of oatmeal or in a hot beverage.
What is the best grade of syrup?
Many Vermonters will tell you what their favorite grade is, it all comes down to your personal preference and the right syrup for the job. In 2015, Vermont adopted a new syrup grading system. Here’s a run-down of the new system as it compares to the old system. All the maple grades for consumers is now "Grade A".
Golden Delicate = Fancy
Amber Rich Taste = Medium Amber
Dark Robust Taste = Dark Amber
Very Dark Strong Taste = Grade B
What if my package is lost in transit?
While most packages will arrive on time, there may be circumstances and delays that our carriers may experience. For this reason, we do not guarantee the exact delivery time; the delivery issue is the responsibility of the shipping company. However, we will work every angle to find a lost package and stay in contact with the carrier.
Will gifts include pricing?
Items that you mark as a gift when purchasing in Etsy, will not include any information pertaining to cost of the items.
How do I start a return?
If you are totally unsatisfied with our maple products, contact us within 14 days of receiving your items through the Etsy message system. We want to make sure we have a full understanding of what didn’t go right. How can I expect my return to be resolved?
Depending on the purchase, we may want to have the items returned. We will send you a label for return. And, depending on our conversation about what went wrong, we’ll either send replacement product or submit a refund.
