This lens feature Sigma's HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) technology. This system ensures quiet and fast autofocus yet, you also have full-time manual focus override accessed by simply rotating the focus ring. Sigma's enhanced autofocus system, you're able to get a much smoother autofocus experience.
Designed to be robust and durable
This lens has be designed with usability at its core. Sigma have considers all aspects and have improved the autofocus/manual focus changeover switch as well incorporating a more intuitive lens cap system. Sigma have used metallic components in conjunction with TSC (Thermally Stable Composite) to create a completely solid lens.
Reduced flare and ghosting
Sigma have used super multi-layer coatings that reduce flare and ghosting. They provide sharp and high contrast images even in backlit and harsh lighting conditions. The whole idea is make every Art Series lens resistant to strong incident light such as backlight to help you capture the best possible image.
