We officially opened our doors as a lighting design and fabrication studio in June 2013. Coming from an architecture and engineering background, we wanted to stop focusing on the envelope (four walls and a ceiling) and started to envision what was inside. Don’t get us wrong, good design and proper construction shouldn’t be overlooked, it’s kind of really important, but we wanted to shift from the building to the living. We’ve always said “light is art,” and we adopted that philosophy because we wanted to turn a space into a place. A place where you could kick back, stay awhile, and feel comfortable in your surroundings. A place where you wanted to come visit and come back again and again. A place where you would be amazed. A place that would make your favorite restaurant or bar list. A place that made your office feel, well … less like an office. A place that you could call home.
