My name is María, I am the creator of the concrete homewares in this shop.

Here’s a few things about me and then we’ll get to the shop details .

I am from New Jersey, USA.

Soon after graduating I learned another language, traveled & did volunteer work while living abroad , not becoming resettled in the United States until 2009.

No matter where I was living, creating art has been a huge part of my life like so many other makers on Etsy.

I starting making concrete planters in 2016 mostly for my personal use . At the time I was slightly obsessed with providing a cool home for all of my succulent plants, but it was not until 2020 I decided to revisit working with concrete and Concrete Culture Co. was born.

Incorporating pigments into my designs has been the most exciting part of the making process . More than just seeing them as a “home decor” item , I see my items as works of art. I take pride in every item I create.
