Announcement
Hi and welcome to PolyOriginals. I am passionate about creating both tutorials and original artworks with polymer clay, whether it's sculptures, art jewellery, bowls or decorations, each piece is unique and made with love. I hope you enjoy browsing through what I have listed, and am happy to answer any questions you have about a listing or any of my artworks. NB. From 01/072022, I don't post items to Germany - the new Lucid regulations make this untenable for me cost wise. I apologise for any disappointment caused, and you can always message me privately, as if it becomes cost effective, I may be able to reconsider.

Frequently asked questions
Can the raw polymer canes be used to cover pen blanks, and could they be turned on a lathe?
Yes to both question. The Polymer Clay canes, once warmed, as per the instructions they arrive to you with, can be fitted around blank pen barrels. Once baked, according to the Manufacturer's instructions, They can either be sanded and polished, or, if you are an experienced Lathe user, turned on a lathe. Here is a useful video to watch by one of my customers, using the canes for the first time, to turn a pen barrel coated in Polymer Clay and Resin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBV1n3B_uOc&feature=youtu.be If you have any questions, or would like any advice, please ask me, I am happy to help.
What is Polymer Clay?
Polymer Clay is a man made sculpting medium that remains pliable until it is baked. It can be baked in a normal oven as it cooks at a low temperature. It is one of the few mediums where you can create a complex pattern in a ‘cane’ and reduce this to a very small size while maintaining the integrity of the pattern.
As a beginner will I be able to make anything using the tutorials?
I try to ensure that all my tutorials, unless I express otherwise, are suitable for beginners upwards. I include in one of the PDF Downloads tips and instructions for beginners on the basics of working with Polymer Clay. I hope that these will be sufficient to tell you all you need to know, but suggest that you contact me if you need to know anything else specific to the tutorial you have purchased.
How do you get the pattern in the clay?
I have various tutorials you can view online to show how the pattern gets within the clay. Here are a couple that you may enjoy watching:

What do I do with a cane I bought from you which is unbaked?
There are many used for unbaked canes. Normally, after warming them gently with body heat for a bout 20 minutes, people take thin slices from the cane to lay together to form patterns. I have a video showing you what to do with your canes here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPUdhRwzy04&t=5s. If you have any other questions about this, so send me a conversation.
