The Surprise mugs are hand painted with food safe paint & heat set, but are still intended for that one time 'surprise' use. You can put hot tea or coffee in the mug, & then when they drink the coffee the hidden message is then revealed. After the initial surprise it is intended that you keep the mug as a keepsake, if you wish to use the mug as a regular everyday mug you may do so, but the inside writing will fade. This is intended only as a cool one time hidden message surprise mug, & then kept as a keepsake afterwards.

★ Care Instructions ★
If you decide to re-use the mug, pls read - This is a hand painted mug, so we recommend that you hand wash only with warm soap and water, without scrubbing the artwork. Please do not use abrasive scrubbies or sponges for washing. Do not allow to soak in hot/warm water for an extended period of time, and please do not use bleach (or washing products that contain bleach.) Please do not put in the dishwasher, & also please do not freeze the mug. Normal wear and tear should be expected with time. It is recommended to keep as a keepsake mug after the initial surprise use, if you re-use inside writing will fade.
