The Shimmering Triangles quilts are very exciting to make. I designed this quilt in 2002 when I had beautiful prints that I did not want to cut into small pieces.
The pattern is a downloadable PDF and is available within half an hour of purchase.
Your quilt will feel as if you are looking at it through raindrops on glass, or like pebbles in a rippling stream.
Yes, they have a lot of triangles - but I show you an easy way to make them. You will LOVE the processes I show you and the quilt will be surprisingly quick to make. I also have pages colour and fabric choices to make the quilt successful.
It is a long pattern with a lot of coloured images. It is also a tutorial pattern as it is not a standard way to work with a quilting block. Read it through first and it seems confusing. Take two fabrics and start making it and it becomes clear.
There is a community of Facebook dedicated to this quilt - search in Groups for 'Shimmering Triangles with Jenny Bowker' and answer the questions and I will sign you in. It is a wonderful resource for looking at photographs of other's work, and it is a supportive and lovely group who will help if you have questions.
Yes, it is a pain to print, and it will work better for you if it is printed in colour because there are two options and one option is printed in blue so you do not get confused.. However - unlike a printed pattern you can simply reprint it if you lose it. I live in Australia and this way you will not have to pay an alarming cost for postage.
I love the quilt and hope you do too.
