When is Black Friday 2025?

This year, Black Friday falls on Friday 28th November 2025.

What is Black Friday?

Black Friday started across the pond and is the Friday following Thanksgiving. Since 1952, Thanksgiving has kickstarted the start of America's festive season and Christmas shopping.

That's why loads of shops give discounts on their goods, so shoppers can come and buy gifts from them before Christmas.

The phrase “Black Friday” in the US is said to have been used as early as the 1960s, but it only really took off in the UK around 2013, when ASDA (part of the Walmart group) first started advertising sales on Black Friday. A year later, lots of big UK shops started doing the same thing.

And giffgaff is joining the fun too. We have a ton of brilliant deals for you this Black Friday on iPhone, Samsung, and much more. So, bookmark this page and come back to see them when they go live.

How long does Black Friday last?

The official Black Friday sales last from the Friday after Thanksgiving, until the following Monday, three days later. Then there's another day of sales called Cyber Monday.

But some shops start their Black Friday sales earlier to give shoppers more time to get better prices on their fav items.

What is Cyber Monday?

Cyber Monday is the Monday following Black Friday. On this day, online shops also have sales that are usually tied in with Black Friday deals.

The Monday after Thanksgiving was statistically seen to be the most popular day for online shopping of the year. So larger shops began promoting Cyber Monday-specific deals on their websites to get even more sales after Black Friday.

The phrase “Cyber Monday” was originally coined in 2005 to promote these deals and get shoppers to buy online.

This year, giffgaff's Black Friday deals will continue to run throughout Cyber Monday, so keep your eyes peeled.
