Red Pontiac:

The Red Pontiac, is a red-skinned early main crop potato variety originally bred in the U.S.
Sold in the United States, Canada, Australia, Algeria, the Philippines, Venezuela and Uruguay.
It arose as a color mutant of the original Pontiac variety in Florida, by a J.W. Weston in 1945.
It was registered by the USDA in 1983.
The original Pontiac itself was a hybrid of varieties "Triumph" and "Katahdin"
The plants are large and spreading with angled stems and large light purple flowers.
The potatoes are deep-eyed and round with dark red skin and white waxy flesh.
Can be knobbly if soil moisture is uneven.
The skin color can fade significantly, leaving only the eyes as red.

Russet:

A russet potato is a type of potato that is large, with dark brown skin and few eyes.
The flesh is white, dry, and mealy, and it is suitable for baking, mashing, and french fries.
Russet potatoes are also known as Idaho potatoes.

Adirondack Blue:

The 'Adirondack Blue' is a potato variety with blue flesh and skin.
Released by Cornell University (Robert Plaisted, Ken Paddock, & Walter De Jong) in 2003.
The 'Adirondack' varieties are unusual because both the skin and the flesh are colored and have high levels of anthocyanins.
This variety is good for boiling, baking, and mashing, and can be used for brightly colored salads.
Unlike many blue potatoes, it does not turn grey after boiling.
Bred from N40-1 ('Chieftain' x 'Black Russian') x NY96 and is not under plant variety protection.
Large and spreading foliage.
The stems and leaves are green with a bluish tint. The flowers are white.
Tuber set is moderate and the tubers are round to oblong in shape and slightly flattened, with intermediate to shallow eyes.
The skin and flesh are purple and the skin may be slightly netted. Tuber dormancy is short.
The tubers can be used for chips, but cannot be chipped from cold storage.
