I have been making miniatures for 40 years. When I discovered polymer and air dry clay fell in love with it. I had many failures, sometimes I would put it away and not look at it for months. I would always go back and I kept trying to make something that looked like the picture I had in my head.
I would lay out food to try to copy it, and when I walked away from it and went back, my little boy had eaten it.
I would always show my newest creation to Jim and he would critique it and it worked. I just kept trying.
I started my Etsy shop because I wanted to share my creations and I did not know what to expect my first year.
Jim began 3d printing, something he knew nothing about. I asked him to make me miniature plates, etc. When Jim had more practice at 3d printing, I started asking him to make more complicated pieces. As he got better, we started to make many items we did not think we could make.
We learned alot the first two years, and we are still learning. I made many mistakes, had a few designs that did not sell, but we were having a good time trying new designs.

Anyone who wants to make hand made miniatures should keep trying - it is worth it if you love minis.
