This listing is for a PDF PATTERN to make the quilt top pictured - it is not a finished item.
**PLEASE SELECT 'Learn more about this item' TO READ FULL LISTING DETAILS**
**Pattern includes step-by-step instructions from cutting to piecing the quilt top, but does not provide instructions for finishing/quilting the end product. YouTube has a ton of great videos on DIY quilting as well as backing and binding your quilt**
**Pattern also includes multiple PHOTOS and charts to give you a visual guide to making the quilt top, as well as photos of the completed quilt top**
When I was designing this quilt, my 6 year old literally squealed when she walked into my sewing room and saw it (needless to say the finished sample now resides on her bed!)
Your little one will love snuggling with these rows and rows of Puppies on Parade too!
Pattern will give you information on making the quilt in 3 sizes - Crib (38x49), Throw (51x67) and Twin (77x91) as well as additional information for customizing the size.
This quilt can be made using just about anything from scraps to fat quarters or layer cake squares! The sample shown in the photos was made using only scraps from my stash, which makes me love it even more! :-)
**a note about this quilt top**
I have chosen not to make the dogs as traditional ‘appliques’ - they are simply dogs cut out of fabric and stitched to the strips. The edges will fray as you wash the quilt, and this is the look I wanted. If you do not want your dogs to have frayed edges, you may want to use fusible web when cutting out your dogs/ears, but I do not provide specific instructions for doing the appliques that way.
This is an original DahliaInBloom quilt design. If you will be selling completed quilts here on Etsy, please give me credit for the design. The pattern may NOT be resold or redistributed in any way.
This pattern is only available written in English.
The PDF instructions assume that you have basic sewing and quilt making knowledge. This pattern will show you how to make the quilt TOP as pictured, but does not go into finishing detail such as backing, binding and quilting.
Basic tools needed to make this quilt pictured (Throw size):
3 yards fabric for the background strips
SCRAPS - 44 large scraps (min 5” x 9”) for the dogs, and 44 small scraps for the ears
-or- FAT QUARTERS – at least 8 FQ (more if you want more than 8 different prints for your dogs/ears) You can cut 6 dogs plus ears from each FQ
-or- LAYER CAKE SQUARES – 22 plus additional for ears (each dog template is 5” tall and 9” wide so you must cut carefully if using LC squares; # of additional for ears depends on how varied you want them to be)
Cotton or Poly batting at least 4" wider and longer than finished quilt size
Approximately 4 yards fabric for backing
Additional fabric yardage, scraps or Jelly Roll strips for the binding
This PDF PATTERN will be available via instant download after purchase.
This is not a paper copy of the pattern.
