Men's Shawl Collar Crochet Cardigan PATTERN - Men's Button Up Sweater Pattern PDF Tutorial - Instant Download
The Men’s Shawl Collar Crochet Cardigan is a traditional knit-look crochet garment, an heirloom piece of clothing that you can enjoy your whole life. It’s not only the coziest piece of crochet wear you will ever have in your wardrobe, it’s also the most versatile. It's the perfect everyday sweater!
The shawl collar cardigan has both a formal and relaxed vibe that ranges from business wear to something you’ll wear lounging around at home. Wear it in place of a sport coat if you don’t want a tailored look. Button it up and wear it to most workplaces as smart or business casual. It can also be worn as an overcoat alternative, or it can be worn under an overcoat as a layering garment.
*The crochet cardigan pattern includes instructions for side seam pockets and no pockets.

It also includes instructions for adjusting the length of the cardigan and two pocket options.
Garment Construction Notes:
- The sweater is worked side to side (from hem to neck opening/shoulders) in panels. I chose to design this cardigan in panels to give the garment more stability (from the seams). The seams are all super easy whipstitch seams. The shawl collar / front buttonhole edge is crocheted right onto the front panels (no seaming). Sleeves are crocheted flat, seamed, then whipstitched on.
Terminology:
- All of my patterns are written in English using standard American terms.
