Expanded Pentax O-GPS2 GPS Unit Key Features:
Effortless Astronomical Photography
The O-GPS2 delivers an advanced ASTROTRACER function when mounted onto a Pentax SLR camera equipped with an SR (Shake Reduction) system. By utilising the different features of the camera and the O-GPS2, photographing planets and stars has never been easier. The unit uses the latitude obtained from location data, and camera alignment data, to calculate the movement of stars and other bodies. It then synchronises the camera’s image sensor to the movement of the subjects.
This helps produce high-quality images instead of blurry streaks without the need for additional accessories for astronomical photography. Those shooting with the Pentax K-3 Mark III can specifically use the O-GPS2 to shoot both the landscape and the stars in a well-balanced manner.
Simple But Powerful GPS
Designed to be easy to use, the O-GPS2 mounts onto the hotshoe of a compatible camera and comes packed with intuitive features. Its GPS function receives GPS and QZSS signals used in the US and Japan, but can now also receive GLONASS and Galileo too. The Simple Navigation function can accurately guide a photographer to a destination by calculating the direction and distance from their current position.
Users can either use location data stored from previously shot images or upload location data from a PC to locate a destination. The Electronic Compass makes use of the camera’s LCD monitor to display the camera’s direction, which is determined by using magnetic sensors and recorded location data.
