Supply chain issues and postal delays are part of the game now, and I cannot guarantee arrival for any orders placed after the deadline, although I will do my best. Thank you for your understanding!

Most orders ship between 2-3 business days. Occasionally, an order will take longer, which is why processing times are listed as longer. Please message the shop if you have questions or need an item sooner rather than later. Due to COVID-19, there may be delays in shipping on top of my normal production timelines. Production and shipping times are always changing, and I can give you a better idea of probable timelines. I can also upgrade to express shipping for an additional cost.
Please note: I am unable to include gift messages directly with my orders. All orders are shipped to recipients directly and without pricing information. However, for gift orders, I do send a nice card to recipients to alert them a gift is on its way from my shop, courtesy of the purchaser. Please include any other information in the “notes to seller” section.
Wash garments inside out in cold water. Dry low. Do not dry clean. The garments are pre-treated before pressing for design longevity. On some colors, it may show slightly upon arrival, but it will wash out.
Printing processes and screen differences may mean physical items vary slightly than what is shown in mock-up images. I do not use vinyl on my physical products (no crunchiness or peeling!). I utilize professional printers throughout the U.S. (and sometimes abroad if you are also abroad) for longevity and quality. Your item will ship directly from the printer, so please reach out if there are any issues so I can get them fixed! Direct-to-garment printing gives you the soft durability you crave for small, boutique runs like ours, at an affordable cost. Bonus, it also gives garments a vintage feel, like a well-loved favorite, right off the press.
All of the designs are created by me. I am a stay-at-home mom who creates these designs from my kitchen table while my adorable children demand snacks every 10 minutes and I drink ridiculous amounts of coffee. I don't purchase my complete designs and use someone else's work on my items. You are ordering directly from an artist who uses commercially-licensed fonts and art. (It costs more, but it’s the right thing to do.)
Four Birds Apparel’s Statement on Sustainability:
I try to choose the more environmental option whenever possible. Is it perfect? No. But I’m always trying to be better, and if we all did that, our planet would be in a better place. How do I do this?
.: Brand Selection. For shirts, the Bella+Canvas brand is one of the best when it comes to sustainability. They are virtually zero waste and work to constantly reduce water and energy. Find out more at https://www.bellacanvas.com/eco_friendly. Other brands I use include Gildan (https://www.genuineresponsibility.com/en), Next Level Apparel (https://www.nextlevelapparel.com/social-responsibility) and Lane Seven (https://www.lanesevenapparel.com/social_compliance). Please let me know if you would like me to source another brand or item for any of my designs, or if you have ideas on more sustainable options. For mugs and drinkware, any reusable option is better than disposable. It is my hope that my products’ longevity allow you to enjoy them for years and years to come.
.: Printing Techniques. Heat-transfer vinyl (HTV) is great. But it’s plastic, and there are not (yet?) more environmentally-friendly options for it. Avoiding HTV for my items means fewer plastics and microplastics in our world. In addition, I also try to utilize the most environmentally-friendly printers (water-based, biodegradable inks)*. Direct-to-garment and sublimation printing are more environmentally conscious than other options. Items are printed on demand so there is no waste. Most items are also only shipped once, from manufacturer to consumer, eliminating warehouse energy needs and additional shipping. One in six apparel items make it to a landfill without ever being worn. Printing items on demand removes that overproduction piece.
* Orders are occasionally routed to other printers due to supply and inventory issues, but I do my best. Please message me before you order if you have any questions.
.: Shipping. Etsy was the first major online shopping destination to offset 100% of carbon emissions from shipping. Find out more at https://www.etsy.com/impact.
Thank you for shopping small!
