The Intimate Comfort Vaginismus Routine is composed of our natural and moisturizing water-based lubricant; and a set of 5 progressive vaginal dilators by the Calexotics brand. It was designed in consultation with perineologist physiotherapists (who also use them in their office) to help people suffering from vaginismus, dyspareunia, or other disorders making penetration difficult or painful.

This routine is ideal for learning to gradually regain control over the reflex contraction of the pelvic floor muscles, a common cause of sexual pain linked to penetration (e.g. in the case of vaginismus).

Dilators adapted to vaginal anatomy

The set includes 5 vaginal dilators made from soft medical grade silicone providing softness and comfort. Their form factor (angle and lengths) has been designed to adapt perfectly to the vaginal canal for simplified and practical use as well as, as far as possible, to cause no pain. This is a set of dilators of progressive sizes (length x diameter). From smallest to largest: 7.5cm x 1.25cm - 9cm x 2cm - 10.75cm x 2cm - 12.75cm x 2.5cm - 14cm x 3.25cm. Start with the smallest vaginal dilator and gradually move towards the larger dimensions.

A moisturizing lubricant with a healthy composition to prevent discomfort

Thanks to its healthy formula and its pH adapted to the vaginal environment, our water-based lubricant is a medical device composed of 99.5% ingredients of natural origin (according to ISO 16128), including organic aloe vera and carrageenan. Its moisturizing effect helps to alleviate intimate dryness and discomfort related to penetration. Its melting texture provides a long-lasting glide that helps to eliminate friction and therefore facilitates the insertion of vaginal dilators. It does not contain glycerin, glycols, propanediol, toxic materials or heavy preservatives. You can therefore use it with complete peace of mind without risking exacerbating your symptoms or worrying about possible harmful effects on your body or your vaginal flora.

Directions for use

Coat the vulva and the tip of the dilator with water-based lubricant. Let it settle naturally without forcing or guiding the dilator. Be sure to start with the smallest dilator and gradually work your way up to the larger sizes. It is recommended to practice little but often, starting with a minimum of one minute of dilation with the goal of doing 5-10 minute sessions, 5-6 days a week. Hold the dilator in this neutral position for 1-10 minutes, trying to relax your pelvic floor as much as possible (think abdominal breathing). For optimal use, see our article on this subject . The insertion of the dilator is done with the part pointing towards the back and not towards the navel to follow the physiological curvature of the vaginal canal.

Gradually eliminates pain at the entrance of the vagina related to penetration

Regular use of the Intimate Comfort Vaginismus Routine allows you to gradually relieve the pain associated with penetration. We recommend that you gradually progress to the larger dilator sizes, at your own pace, without ever exceeding a few minutes of use per day and making sure to use the natural water-based lubricant from IntyEssentials to facilitate the insertion and sliding of the accessories and therefore avoid exacerbating the sensation of pain during penetration. With a little time and patience, you can learn to relearn control over letting go and relaxing the perineal muscles that can sometimes make penetration difficult, or even impossible if they are hypertonic (excessively tense). Why do I need it?

The Vaginismus Comfort Intimate Routine is ideal in case of pain during penetration (for example in case of vaginismus). It helps to regain control over the muscle relaxation necessary for sexual intercourse by penetration without pain or discomfort or for the insertion of any accessory or medical device (menstrual cup, intimate toy, etc.).

How to use dilators?
