Each spool of this bestselling cotton string weighs approximately 1kg and contains about 300-400 ft. This soft cotton is made from 100% recycled materials and is beautiful to work with: soft on the hands, easy to knot, maintains structure well, and brushes into lustrous fringe.

7mm single strand cotton is the perfect material for making chunky macrame pieces. It weaves beautifully into tapestries and has a creamy, smooth appearance.

***We are very proud and passionate about supplying maker communities with recycled cotton, and the creation story of this recycled cotton rope is very interesting. Post-consumer textile waste is grouped into colour categories, then blended to create a uniform colour that doesn't require the application of as many dyes. This recycling and colour grouping gives the rope minuscule speckles (or freckles) that add to its beauty and hint at the ways in which waste has been repurposed, and granted new life.
