Crochet For Every Age

I sort of stumbled into learning crochet. I’ve been a graphic designer for most of my adult life; but spending hours upon hours staring at a computer screen can get old, and I’ve always wanted a hobby that didn’t require such a consuming relationship with my MacBook.

A couple of years ago, a friend asked me to design a web site for her crochet business. I couldn’t help but get excited when I looked at all the beautiful and fun creations she was making. So, when I finished that site, I decided to learn crochet for myself. My original goal was to be able to save some money by hand-making Christmas presents for my family members. By the time I was done, I was smitten with my new hobby.

Over time I discovered that I really enjoyed coming up with my own creations instead of following other people's patterns. In November 2012 I opened my own Etsy shop, and everything I sell on there is designed by me. I have loved this new venture and still get excited when I start with a ball of yarn and a hook and turn it into a hat or accessory that a child (or adult!) will love.
