Frequently asked questions
What shipping service do you use?
We ship all plants with USPS 2-Day Priority Mail. We take extra precaution in the winter to ensure plants arrive safely, including using 72-hour heat packs.
Will I receive the exact plant from the photos?
Our photos represent an example of the plant, but not the exact plant you will receive. We select an average plant from the crop for our photos. Due to the nature of being live plants, not every plant of the same size and variety will look exactly alike.
What do I do if my package is delayed or lost by USPS?
Unfortunately once we have dropped the package off for shipping, we do not have control of the shipping process. If your order appears lost or delayed, your best course of action will be to contact the postal service with your tracking number as they will have the most updated information. We ship with USPS Priority Mail which includes $50-100 of postal insurance. You can file a claim using the USPS Website, calling the USPS, or visiting your local post office to speak with a USPS employee.
Do you accept returns or exchanges?
We do not accept returns or exchanges for any reason. Unfortunately once the plant is out of our hands, we cannot guarantee it's quality. Please reach out to us within 3 days of receiving your plant with any issues as we can help resolve them! we also do not accept buyers remorse returns due to the stressful nature of shipping plants.
What is my plant arrives damaged?
If your plant arrives damaged or dead, we require a photo clearly detailing the damage in order to address it. Plants being shipped across the country can experience stress and trauma in transit. This is a known potential risk of shipping a plant across the country, and typically unavoidable. This may look like a dehydrated plant, small cuts or rips on leaves, or slight browning of leaves. It is also normal for soil to shift in the box, and fall out of the pot during shipping. We always recommend having some extra soil on hand when ordering plants online. We will not issue any refunds for a healthy plant experiencing normal transit stress. Please reach out within 3 days of receipt with any issues.
How do I care for my new plant?
We include simple care guidelines on each plant listing. Additionally, you can find more in-depth care instructions on our website: shop.thorsensgreenhouse.com. Keep in mind that every plant is unique and the exact care that you plant needs will depend on the environment it is in.
What if I need to change my shipping address?
Please reach out to us as soon as possible after placing your order if you need to change your shipping address, pot color, or want to cancel. After we have shipped your order, there is nothing we can do to change these details.
What if I have only received part of my order?
If you ordered multiple plants, there is a good chance they had to ship in separate boxes. Plants of different sizes will ship separately to ensure each plant gets packaged accordingly. Unfortunately Etsy only sends one tracking number even when there are multiple packages for an order. Please reach out to us if you are missing part of your order and we can send you the additional tracking information.
If you are completely missing a plant or pot from your order, reach out to us as soon as possible and we will ship out a replacement at no charge.
Do you have a warranty for your plants?
Despite our utmost efforts to ensure your plants are delivered safe and alive, once your plants have left our nursery they are dependent upon the delivery service to arrive safely and then upon your own care for them to thrive.
Thorsen's Greenhouse offers a warranty on all plants we ship. In order to take advantage of this warranty, should your plant(s) arrive damaged, you will need to submit a photo of the damaged plant(s) to us within 3 days of the plant's delivery. Please email us at eorders@thorsensgreenhouse.com to send your notice or claims.
Note: Normal shedding and color-changing leaves are not included in this warranty.
Can I include a Gift Message with my order?
You can absolutely include a gift message with your order! When placing your order please mark it as a gift and enter the message into the specified gift message field. All gift messages will be printed on the order's packing slip which is attached to the outside of the box. Gift messages MUST be included in the gift message field to be included - gift messages conveyed elsewhere may not get included.
