  • "A very quiet pleasant location within a short drive of the major attractions in the area."

Recommended for those looking for a peaceful holiday. Clean, airy and well equipped but easy to maintain. The owners were easy to contact and always ready to help. As a minor improvement we would suggest a squeegee for the wet room floor

  • "A comfortable and well equipped lodge in a secluded location, perfect for exploring the Suffolk coast from."

The rear garden is secure so all in all perfect if you have a dog. The only dislikes were the illuminated fire exit signs in the bedrooms (very intrusive when trying to sleep) and the wet room, simply because the whole floor gets wet every time you shower! However, we'd definitely go back there.

    Thanks Becca and Louise :)

  • "Superb little set up, you should probably highlight the secure garden more as was a key thing we were researching for and the photos didn’t it justice."

Only one small thing is the kettle needs descaling so we couldn’t use it, otherwise fantastic little set up you have and would stay again. Thanks for your hospitality and nice touch with treats for the dog.

  • "Had a relaxing break over the Christmas period."

Caretakers had kindly supplied fresh milk, Teabags and Sugar for a very needed arrival cup of tea. The lodge is situated off a very quiet lane about 5 minutes walk to the village or a five minute drive to town. You could count on one hand how many cars drive past the lodge in a day, very quiet. Waking up on Boxing Day to a dead car battery and realising my AA cover was insufficient I had no choice but to call the caretaker for a jumpstart. He was very helpful. If you’re looking for a low budget no bells & whistle break I would recommend. Will re-book again.

Philip was very helplfull when there was a power cut, managed to find the reason we could not change channels on the tv....the remote battery needed replacing. Our little dog loved the freedom of the garden. Would recommend 100%

  • "Could do with a couple more comfy chairs."

Beanbags are not user friendly to the aged/disabled. Needs something to stop toilet room flooding when showering. Otherwise excellent all round . Haven of peace. PS The squirrels are nicking all the bird food and the great tips are chucking the rest out....for the pheasants and magpies!!!

Peaceful relaxing holiday .we would have liked a bread knife but everything else was fine

  • "We had a great time away at the cottage with plenty to see and do."

The added touches like cookies were a delightful surprise too! This was the first trip away with our puppy, and we felt that she was safe and secure too. The wet-room style shower was really helpful too, sometimes small cabins like this have very cramped bathrooms but this didn't feel the case here.

LEISTON

Aldringham 1 mile; Thorpeness 3 miles; Aldeburgh 4 miles.

Leiston is located in the heart of the Suffolk Heritage Coast and offers excellent links to the popular seaside towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh. The town thrived by manufacturing steam tractors, and cast and machined metal products, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The town is now home to many of the workers of the nearby power plant, Sizewell, and is served well by an active leisure centre and the oldest purpose-built cinema in Suffolk, which today offers the latest digital 3D projection systems! The 14th century remains of Leiston Abbey lie northwest of the town and its high street has a good range of shops, banks, pubs, restaurants and takeaways, plus a Post Office and a library.
