***PLEASE NOTE - This listing is for a crochet pattern and is not for the completed item!***
This pattern includes instructions on how to make, assemble and decorate your crown (and how to easily adjust the size of the white brim section to fit a variety of heads)! The finished crown is perfect for use as a costume or for adding to a post box topper.
This pattern is written in English, using American crochet terms and contains photos to help you every step of the way.
You will need:
Chunky yarn (I used stylecraft special chunky which is 144m per 100g) in the following colours:
White (approx. 126m).
Purple (approx. 116.5m).
Gold (approx. 258m).
Please note = The amount of yarn used will vary according to yarn weight, hook size and stitch tension so these measurements are only a rough guide.
You will also need:
A 4.5mm hook
Toy Stuffing (for the white brim section).
A polystyrene / Styrofoam ball that’s 6cm in diameter.
2 sheets (33 x 26cm) of ‘7 count’ plastic canvas. A higher count (that’s the number of holes per inch) will mean the plastic is more bendy so stick to 7 count if possible.
Some clear nylon ‘invisible’ thread. This is optional but is required if you want your crown to have a gap between the top of the purple hat section and the gold bars above it.
As many sparkly buttons / beads / gems / decorations as you can find, and a similar gold or brown colour sewing thread with which to attach them.
An 8m string of gold sequins - these are optional but they really help to make your crown sparkle if you can bear sewing them all on!
Other tools you will need are some scissors, stitch markers, a tapestry needle and some pins.
You are welcome to sell the items that you make using this pattern, but please do not sell / share the pattern itself. Thank you.
