This is a fun crochet pattern to create 6 shell patterned coasters and a cute land or sea turtle shaped holder to neatly store them in. The fun part is that the turtle can hide inside its shell while you use the coasters!

This pattern is written in ENGLISH ONLY

This pattern is written using US terms and includes a chart to convert into UK terms. I have included photographs to help with instructions in the pattern. A printer friendly version will also be included.

I have used Rico Creative Cotton Aran yarn, which is a Worsted weight yarn for this pattern, with a 4.5mm crochet hook.
Finished coasters measure approximately 11.5cm/4.5" in diameter. The completed holders measure approx. 23cm/9" from head to tail and 20cm/8" for the tortoise or 23cm/9" for the turtle.

You will need:
Aran/Worsted cotton yarn in 2 shades of Brown and 2 shades of Green - less than 150yds of each
A 4.5mm hook
Some toy stuffing (polyester fibrefill)
Optional: a pair of 10mm safety eyes
A yarn needle and scissors
