Mountain hikers and long-distance trekkers are no strangers to foot fatigue. The dull ache after a long day battling every type of terrain the British countryside can throw at you. Thankfully Scarpa have designed the Rush Trek Boot with a huge emphasis on comfort and anti-fatigue.

The shock-absorbing Interactive Kinetic System (IKS) takes the impact so your feet don’t have to, while the padded Autofit 3D collar increases your stability and reduces strain to prolong comfort on long walks.

A GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort membrane has been used to deliver long-lasting waterproof and breathable protection. There’s also a thick rubber rand that deflects trail debris as you move. Optimised for mountain use, the boots also feature a pronounced heel and deep lugs that improve grip even when travelling up and down steep sections.

  • Water resistant suede and mesh uppers
  • GORE-TEX Extended Comfort membrane – waterproof and breathable
  • Padded Autofit 3D collar – reduces strain and stabilises foot
  • Activ Fit technology – guaranteed comfort
  • Rubber toe rand protects against rocky terrain
  • Anti-torsion DST chassis aids stability

Not as stated, very disappointed.
3 out of 5

I was really excited to try out the Men's Rush Trk GORE-TEX® Hiking Boot, especially with the promise of waterproof protection and GORE-TEX® technology. However, after just the first wear, I was seriously disappointed. Despite the marketing claims of being waterproof, my boots leaked water as soon as I encountered a small puddle. I ended up with soggy feet, which completely undermines the purpose of purchasing these boots in the first place.

The fit and comfort were decent, but that’s about where the positives end. For a boot that’s advertised as waterproof and durable, it didn’t live up to expectations, especially considering the price. If you’re planning to use these in wet conditions or for serious hiking, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. For the money, I expected much better performance. Not worth the investment, in my opinion.

Don’t waste your money

Had 2 pairs of these boots and both pairs have leaked on the second outing, which is a shame as they’re extremely comfortable. Don’t waste your money!!

Comfortable boot let down by poor waterproofing
3 out of 5

Pros:
Very comfortable, though not much arch
Lightweight

Cons:
Waterproofing issues immediately, especially in wet grass
Rand split away from fabric after 8 months light use. Not remotely waterproof

Useless

black rubber surrounding the shoe began to separate from the uppers within a few weeks of light walking. Has happened to both boots so clearly a design fault. Water now gets trapped in the space

Good boot let down by the soles
3 out of 5

Bought these boots March 23. Very comfortable from the start but sadly these boots are let down by the fast wearing soles. Thankfully the scarpa guarantee is 2 years and Go out doors refunded me

Soles came unstuck after seven months of very light use
3 out of 5

These boots were very uncomfortable to start with but were quite waterproof & gripped well. Soles on both boots came unstuck after 7 months - others have had the same issue. Boots returned for refund.

Disappointing from a brand leader like Scarpa
3 out of 5

I purchased April 2022. Within a month the outsole was coming away, the heel has now worn smooth and is splitting, Scarpa should have used a Vibram lite sole for better life expectancy and quality.

Light with good waterproofing

I recently bought these from Go Outdoors and gave them intense testing whilst in the Lake District. They performed fantastically, even in boggy ground, and my feet remained dry.

Decent boots badly let down by own-brand sole
3 out of 5

Three months: That's how long I've owned and worn these boots, and already the tread on one heel is down through the sole. Otherwise, they have been reasonably comfy once broken-in, and waterproof.

Definitely not waterproof
3 out of 5

Had these boots less than a year, and from 3 months onward they have let water even in wet grass. Not sure how long the soles will last as they show signs of rapid wear. Soles have good grip.

Comfortable but wear quickly and leak
3 out of 5

Probably the most comfortable boots I've ever had. Light but supportive and grippy. Sadly they leaked almost from new and the soles have pretty much worn out after less than two years.

Poor Quality
3 out of 5

Purchased the boots this year (2023) and having only covered around 90 miles in these boots, it is disappointing to say that the sole has come away from the boot. Expensive product, poor quality.

Poor Quality

Nice and comfortable to wear but the sole feels like its stuck on with PVA glue. already showing major wear after less than 11 months of light use on the hills and the sole is peeling away at the back

Presa sole
3 out of 5

These boots are an absolute dream to wear, but, I am finding that the Presa sole is wearing much quicker than any other boots I have owned.

Nimble and Supportive
3 out of 5

These Scarpa Rush boots are perfect - great fit, nimble and grippy on wet rock and supportive too. Dry feet after a 20 mile hike over wet boggy ground at the weekend. Very happy with this purchase.

Presa soles disappoint
3 out of 5

I walk 15-20 miles in a typical week and have worn part of both heels smooth in 7 months. If you like Scarpa, make sure you buy a boot with a Vibram sole.

Perfect Hiking boots
3 out of 5

Very impressed. These are lightweight, high quality and the sole is a medium firm stiffness to hike everything from fells and up any UK mountain in comfort. Miles more wet grip than vibram also.
