A traditionally handwoven Thai bamboo fishing trap, re-purposed into a beautifully minimalistic pendant light.

Various sizes available - For reference, the baskets in the first trio pic are XXXL, XXL and XL. Oblong is the natural shape but they can be made spherical and other shapes easily.

The basket is compressible/expandable like a concertina and can achieve many shapes and position - the oblong shape is the natural position/shape - the round shapes as shown in the listing pictures for example are achieved simply by compressing from each end, and tying the supplied string inside to pull taut as shown to then hold in desired position.

[ About ]

A classic example of Asian craftmanship, these fishing traps are handwoven from natural bamboo using techniques that are centuries old. We've added a simple yet precise hanging lamp holder that can be adjusted with an adjustable metal support bracket so that you can position your bulb anywhere inside the basket, along with a choice of ceiling rose to match your style/theme.

The basket can be opened/closed like a concertina to get a variety of shapes and fixed in position with string, from the long droplet style to a round circle.

'Basket Only' option includes the metal cord bracket and cord grips.

[ Cable length / options ]

The cable can be made to any length. If you would like a specific length not in the listing options, simply purchase the closest meter from the listing options and add in the order notes the specific length you require. For example, if you would like a cable length 265cm, purchase the 3m option and add the 265cm request in the order notes. We would then make a cable set that is 265cm long.

SWITCH OPTIONS - ** Please note - the plug version (not ceiling/hardwired) does not have a switch on the cable as default. The light must be switched on and off at the plug outlet. A switch can be added by request to the black and white cable versions (just send a message to let us know how many cm from the plug you would like the switch positioned, we will also message buyers to ask) but unfortunately a switch is not able to be added to the natural rope style due to it's thickness. The ceiling versions are hardwired and so no cable switch is needed as they use the light switch in your home already. **

[ Notes ]

○ The light bulb is not included. We recommend softer energy saving LED or weaker vintage style bulbs as seen in the pictures to protect the bamboo from heat damage.

○ As each piece is individually handmade they will differ slightly in size, shape and shade, and may have small marks and wear. The odd bamboo strand may be slightly frayed or snapped, but this does not affect the product, you can optionally trim / snip out and position other strands in it's place - due to the handwoven nature and natural bamboo strands used, small imperfections like this are to be expected, but do not affect the design, shaping or use.

○ Oblong baskets will be folded/flattened for easier delivery but this has no effect on their shape or strength due to the unique design - simply filling out and 'pumping' a few times like an accordion will restore the original oblong shape.

[ Shipping ]

Our lamps are packed with loving care and sent from Northern Thailand via tracked airmail which should reach you in around 12-21 days standard airmail (US, UK, EU, AUS, ASIA), or 5-7 days via Express.

Please be aware that VAT is NOT included - for some countries (typically EU countries) VAT and customs duties may apply, these are the responsibility of the buyer. If the item is returned to us due to non-payment of the customs duties/fees we would be unable to refund the original shipping cost.

Shipping times vary but the typical shipping time to most places is between 10 and 20 days for standard delivery and 3 to 5 days for express delivery.

Occasionally customs hold ups, weather issues or holidays etc. may cause a small delay but generally 99% of orders arrive within that time frame.

After 4 weeks if there is no update on delivery we can look into it further from point of sending, and we consider a package to be lost and can refund the order if there's no new tracking update after 8 weeks (thankfully not happened yet - touch wood!).

Yes, all packages are sent tracked and registered. The order note has the tracking reference included.

We ship to most places without any problems, although if you have any unusual issues with mail to your address, such as the regular mail service (USPS, Royal Mail etc.) not servicing your area, or you live in a remote area that may require additional shipping precautions please let us know beforehand and we can check that we can deliver.

We recently discovered that there are maximum dimensions for Guernsey, so it may not be possible to ship larger items there unfortunately.

Usually after a missed delivery (nobody home to sign for a package, package refused, not collected etc.) the package will be held for local pickup with your postal service for around 14 days, before being returned to sender if unclaimed.

If this happens, we can re-send for you, although you would have to pay the shipping cost for the re-send.

If you would prefer a refund, we can refund the order minus the initial shipping costs.

Unfortunately it often costs us double to receive a shipment back as we pay for the return shipping of unclaimed items as well as initial shipping :/ so please be sure to keep an eye on your tracking details to make sure any delivery or pick up goes smoothly before an item is returned to sender.

If your item arrives damaged, please let us know asap and retain both the item and the packaging so that we are able to start a claim and/or return with the carrier.

Simply contact us with photos of the damaged item and packaging and we will be able to start a return and/or refund or replace the item for you.

Without photos of the damage and the item being retained we would be unable to refund or replace unfortunately.

Please note that VAT is NOT included.

Etsy's wording can be quite confusing for some countries where VAT may be an option, typically EU countries - you will see on listing that it says 'VAT included (if applicable)'. This is only applicable if the seller is registered to collect VAT in the countries involved, which is rare. In most cases it is not applicable, but the wording tends to imply that VAT is included. :S

VAT and customs duties may apply for larger orders, it is generally EU countries that this applies to but for any country please ensure you check which charges may apply to your purchase before placing an order, as customs duties and VAT are the buyers responsibility.

If you change your mind & would like to return products for a refund, or exchange products for different sizes or styles etc. you can do so by contacting us with a message within 14 days of delivery.

The buyer would be responsible for shipping costs to return - we advise to use tracking as this allows you to follow the item being returned & provides confirmation upon receipt.

If the return/exchange is due to change of mind we can refund the original item cost, minus shipping.

Each case is different, occasionally it may not be ideal to return an item due to change of mind when factoring in shipping costs etc. but we can gladly work out individual deals and discounts for you, just send us a message and we can discuss what's best for you.
