Announcement    What We Do
Obviously you like knives! Me too!!!! And you found me because you like knives that are forged in fire, hammered and created the time tested way of forging the steel in fire and creating workable art! Now with that said, to find one of these type of knives is not the most easy thing to do. You may find a great knife maker only to discover that although he makes knives, he has none available for sale. So then, you must wait months and sometimes even a year to commision a knife. After that, you find out the worst part of it all.....the cost.

Now, like I stated above, I like handmade, hand forged knives but unless I was making them myself, I probably couldn't afford one. Many handcrafted knives are priced unreasonably high, mainly due to the maker is usually not a full time maker and that there are many stages of the process that he or she may have others do for them which is costly.

Here at Indy Hammered Knives, I make the knives myself, FULL TIME which is more than a blessing (full time means 60+hrs a week). I keep every single aspect of the process in my own shop with my own hands so the overhead cost in making my knives is completely under my control. Along with that is my commitment to you providing you with the highest quality, handmade, handforged knife that hands can make. Having knives readily available for you to purchase today, right now, right here on this site, and at a price you can afford.

Lastly, the best part of the knife in my eyes, is the story, and making each knife personal or unique, which is why I offer an almost unlimited amount of options for you to build your own knife or customize it exactly the way you want it for you (not having one that is exactly like all the rest). Or better yet, you can have me build one exactly how you have pictured in your mind as I do custom work. That does take a little longer since we (you and I) will work collaboratively to build your knife perfectly which takes a little time).

Thank you so much for stopping by my little shop and checking out my knives!!! I have much more on my main website at www.IHKnives.com but here is a nice selection / sample of some of my most popular knives and gift ideas.

God Bless

James.

Frequently asked questions

What tools are required to make the knife kit?

This kit is named complete because it is truly all you need if you do not have any tools at all, that said it will take a lot of elbow grease if you use the blade to hand carve your handle. However, a bandsaw, scroll saw or even a hand scroll saw ($8.00 at the hardware store) is very helpful with shaping the handle. Then any kind of power sander will also be helpful but if sandpaper is all you have then it's all you truly need to finish the handle.

Can I see more pictures of the Handle Options for the Kit
