A quilt is protection and comfort in the fall and winter and a pleasant place to sit upon under a shady tree in the summer.
I am a mom of two wonderful girl and our family lives in Wisconsin. Living in a place with four seasons is a joy and the great thing about quilts is they can be enjoyed all year round. In the spring we picnic in the back yard on them. In the summer the quilt is on the sand at the beaches of lake Michigan. In the winter we cozy up on the couch with them and in the fall we bring them outside and enjoy a bonfire with roasted marshmallows. My shop name carries the wish for the creations to be enjoyed by other people. Patchwork piecing involves many steps all of which I really enjoy and love. My hope is that you enjoy your quilt as much as I enjoyed making it.
Patchwork is piecing small pieces of fabric together to create a larger piece and quilting layers of textile fabrics together. The top layer materials I use are quilters quality 100% cotton. The bottom layer uses either the same materials as the top, or a soft minky. Minky fabric comes from 100% man-made fibers (usually polyester), holds up very well to washing, and has a velvety feel and a cozy softness that provides extra warmth. The solid color fabric used in the quilts are Kona. Some of the quilts have flannel backing to add even more warmth. The baby quilts are wonderful for the crib and beautiful for a photo background.
