Patolli Small Handmade Board Game Ancient Mayan Miniature Portable Table Game

Patolli is one of the oldest known games in Mesoamerica. It is a 2-4 player game of strategy, speed, and luck played by ancient Toltec, Aztecs, and Maya people. Its name comes from the Aztec word for bean - patolli because the beans were used as throwing dice.

Patolli was a gambling board game and is recorded as having been played by nobles for high stakes such as precious stones and gold beads, but sometimes food, gold, or even family and their freedom. Emperor Montezuma would watch the nobles play at his court.

This Patolli game is a miniature version of a famous ancient game and is made on a small wooden panel, decorated with the pyrography technique, colored with acrylic paint, and treated with wood varnish.

Since it comes in small dimensions, it's perfect as a small unique gift, as well as a small portable travel mini-board game for any occasion. The game comes with playing pieces, throwing tokens, game wrapping, cloth pouch, and gameplay rules.

This small Patolli board game is made from plywood, specifically hand illustrated with pyrography technique, acrylic paint, and varnish.
The playing pawns are made from sawn wooden branches. They come in four (4) different sets for four players, in four distinguished colors.

The game comes with a handmade cloth wrapping for the game itself. Also, the brown and rustic cloth pouch is included for playing pieces.
