Modern Windows is a modern quilt pattern that takes a classic cathedral window quilt technique and gives it a fresh facelift by retrofitting the classic design to allow for using batting, backing, and binding. The origami style fabric folding technique used to create the cathedral window quilt block leaves a finished edge that traditionally did not require batting or binding. This technique however resulted in a coverlet which is significantly thinner (and less cuddlier) than a quilt. As a result, many quilters love the design at first glance, but avoid making one because it just doesn't FEEL like a real quilt. But now there's Modern Windows.

The Modern Windows quilt pattern has altered the traditional build of the cathedral window to allow you to create the beautiful design of a cathedral window quilt and still use the batting, backing, and binding methods we all know and love.
