MUMMU Jewelry Design Studio, founded in Istanbul by us, graphic designer Levent Özkendirci and architect Özlem Berber, through our great interest in crafts, design and passion for jewelries.
We have a small atelier and a shop in Moda, Kadıköy.
We generaly use genuine materials like silver, brass, bronze, copper,natural stones, glass, wood and leather. Also we are open to new materials, for example an antique wooden piece of a door amulet can turn into a necklace in our studio. We like to improvise!
We like to use most basic techniques and tools in our atelier, like hammer or fire; so the traces of every intervention on the material can be seen on our products. This gives a brutalist and a kind of ancient spirit to our jewelry. Many times our friends say that they feel like they are in a museum when they are in our shop :)
We get very nice comments from our quests who are looking for unique jewelry, who love the aura of handmade works, and who know how to create their own style. This makes us very happy!
We hope to maintain this small but very pleasant and enjoyable enterprise because it makes us feel free...
