This is a PDF CROCHET PATTERN for Lucky the Leprechaun - A fun little project for improving beginners as well as intermediate and practised crocheters!
Make your very own leprechaun in anticipation of St. Patrick's Day!
A free video tutorial for this project is available on my blog at stellasyarnuniverse.com, which you can also work from if you are a visual learner. Both, the pdf pattern and the video tutorial can be worked from individually, without needing to access the other. This pattern is for those who like to print out the pattern and crochet without accessing technology, or prefer to work from a written pattern accompanied by pictures of the process.
This download includes the pattern in U.S. as well as British terminology.
The finished doll will be approx. 3"/7.5cm short.
Materials you need:
- DK/light worsted weight yarn in green
- DK/light worsted weight yarn in skin tone of choice
- DK/light worsted weight yarn in orange
- small amount of DK/light worsted weight yarn in black or
- small amount of DK/light worsted weight in yellow
- 2.5mm/C-2 crochet hook
- Fiberfill
- 1 blunt tapestry needle with bent tip
- 1 stitch marker
Stitches and techniques you need to know:
US terminology:
- starting with a magic ring/magic circle
- slip stitch (sl st)
- single crochet (sc)
- half double crochet (hdc)
- invisible decreases with sc (dec)
UK/Australian terminology:
- starting with a magic ring/magic circle
- slip stitch (sl st)
- double crochet (dc)
- half treble crochet (htr)
- invisible decrease with dc ( dec)
You will learn in the pattern how to make colour changes, invisible finishes and how to use the surface crochet method.
