5 out of 5 starsI loved creating this embroidery piece! The step-by-step guide helped me keep track of the various colors used in the pattern. Although I didn't have the exact colors used in the pattern and used different stitches (mainly stem or straight stitch instead of back or split stitches), I had great results! I recommend this pattern and all patterns by this artist!

5 out of 5 starsBeautiful pattern. Loved that there were templates of different sizes and levels of detail. Since I was stitching on muslin and not aida it would have been useful for a grid to be over top so it would be easier to count the stitches but I ended up doing that myself and had no issues. Excited to do the other patterns I got from this artist.

The coloring part
The main photo for the embroidery pattern listings is just an example of how the finished patterns can look. Feel free to use different colors and embroidery techniques! :)
The coloring part of the embroidery patterns is optional, that is why it is not explained how to do it. There is explanation only for the embroidery parts of this designs.
Tips for painting the fabric #1
- Make sure to use either cotton or linen fabric (for example: unbleached cotton Calico Fabric or cotton muslin fabric);
- If you choose to color the fabric, it is highly recommended to use the Light Source method to transfer the design onto fabric (for example: laptop screen, window, light box) and to use a waterproof pen (for example: Pigma Micron Sakura pens);
- Before coloring the fabric, you can watch some tutorials on YouTube or Skillshare if you search "watercolor embroidery";
- For transparent colors - use watercolors (for example: shadows, color gradients, etc.);
Tips for painting the fabric #2
- For opaque colors - use acrylics (make sure to dilute it with few drops of water - yoghurt consistency - then it is going to be easier to paint with it), acrylic ink or textile paint;
- Do not use too much paint, less is more;
- When using watercolors, do not use too much water, otherwise the paint will spread and be careful around the edges, as most likely the paint will bleed for about 2-4 mm closer to the edges;
- For watercolor gradient - apply some color, then wet a clean brush and blend the edges of the color with the wet brush till you are content with the results;
Tips for painting the fabric #3
- Make sure that the fabric is dry before starting to paint. And wait till the fabric is completely dry (you can use a hair dryer) before starting to paint with another color, otherwise the colors will mix;
- If you use acrylics - when there are a lot of details in the design, make sure not to cover them with the paint and just color around the traced lines, later it will be easier to embroider and this way the embroidery floss will not be colored with paint dust;
