Hello my name is Crystal Lynn Widger. I am a wife, a stay at home mom of 4 wonderful children, a fourth generation crochet artist, a Choctaw Registered Artist with the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, and the owner of Crochet a Memory.
I have 30+ years of crochet experience and have been designing patterns and graphgans for 10 years

My mother and grandmother taught me to crochet when I was a young girl, and that same grandmother was my inspiration to open Crochet a Memory. We lost my grandfather in March of 2013. We all were beyond heart broken. My cousin was married a few years after. I sat next to my grandmother during the ceremony. She was looking at her wedding rings. I knew she was remembering the day she married the love of her life. As I watched the tears fall from her eyes. I knew there was nothing I could do. Or was there? I had an idea. I wanted to make her a crochet blanket with my grandfather's portrait on it. So when she needed to feel his touch, she still could in a way.

In December of 2018 I shared the crochet portrait in a few of my favorite Facebook groups. I was overwhelmed by the response I received. Of others wanting to make memorial blankets, and seeing the look on my grandmothers face after receiving hers. I knew I right then. I had to make these patterns available. So other people could do the same for their loved ones.

So my adventure on Etsy starts - (again)
I started a Facebook business page right after Christmas 2018 and reopened my Etsy shop in February of 2020 offering graphgan and photogan patterns

I opened an Etsy shop in 2013. Listing a few small crochet items. However life took over and my shop (then named Crystal's Crochet Crafts) took a back seat. Sitting empty for almost 7 years.

After helping so many though my business page, I knew it was time to bring back my shop. So it received a much needed facelift and name change.

What's behind the name?
Crochet a Memory, started with a memory my grandmother had of my grandfather as I mentioned earlier. So I could not think of a better name or way to honor my grandmother for teaching me to crochet and the memory of love that her and my grandfather shared.

Due to graphgan and crochet portrait patterns being digital downloads. I am unable to offer refunds. However, if you purchase a pattern and are not 100% completely satisfied, for any reason. **You can choose any one pre-made pattern in my shop for free.**

When you purchase a handmade item, I use USPS to ship the item(s) to you.
