Frequently asked questions

Are your patterns easy to read?

Yes! All of my patterns are very easy to read. Each pattern comes with a grid style graph pattern as well as simple written instructions. So whether you have ever worked from a graph before or not, you would be able to follow any of my patterns.

The written instructions read (black) 2 (white) 3 etc..
So what that means is - You will work 2 stitches in black, (change colors to white) work 3 stitches in white.

How is a photogan/crochet portrait pattern worked?

You can work your photogan in any stitch. However for the best results I do recommend using single crochet

How do I change colors

There are several ways to change colors

You can find instructional videos on my YouTube channel for three of the most common techniques used for graphgans by visiting

How do I work a Graphgan?

There are several ways you can work a graphgan.
Sc, Hdc, Dc, C2C, and many more.

Really they can be worked anyway you feel comfortable. However with most graphgans the smaller the stitch the better.

Are your graph patterns just for crochet?

No! They can be used for knitting, cross stitch, latch hook, and any other project that require working from a graph. I have made the instructions very easy to read. Listing only the number of stitches and the color needed.

So you can decide whether you want to crochet with a sc stitch, knit with a purl stitch, or cross stitch with the embroidery stitch.

What if I see a pattern I want but it is listed as sc, can I request C2C or vise versa?

Absolutely! If you see it listed as sc or C2C that is referring to the written instructions. I would be happy to make another listing in the method you prefer.
However - If you do not need the written instructions you can purchase the pattern as it is and work from the graph. The graph does not change from one method to the next
