Expanded Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 8-25mm f4 PRO Key Features:
An Advanced Structure
For such a compact and lightweight build, this lens is packed with a highly advanced and intricate optical structure that is made up of 16 premium glass elements, arranged into 10 groups. These include 1 DSA lens, 2 Aspherical ED lenses, 1 Super ED lens, 1 ED lens, 1 Super HR lens, 1 HR lens, 1 HD lens. Together, these elements help to significantly suppress various types of aberrations that can occur e.g. chromatic aberrations and sagittal comatic aberrations. Furthermore, this lens of course features Olympus’s ZERO Coating that heavily suppresses the appearance of ghosting and flare during backlit conditions. The result of all of these lenses and coating is consistently sharp, detailed and colour accurate images and video footage across the entire focal range.
What’s more, the 8-25mm focal range offers a 35mm equivalent focal length of 16-50mm which is suitable for a large range of wide-angle photographic applications. However, as well suited as this lens is to wide-angle photography (such as landscapes), the narrower end makes for stunning portraiture, and the lens has a close minimum focusing distance of just 23cm and maximum shooting magnification of 0.42x meaning that this lens can easily be used for macro photography.
Conscious Design
As with all Olympus PRO lenses, a lot of thought goes into the design to make it intuitive for professional use. The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 8-25mm f4 PRO is no different with an ergonomic and tactile construction with thoughtfully placed controls that allow for more concentration on your shot, rather than on where your hands are placed. Furthermore, this lens is equipped with a reliable and resilient weather-resistant performance that allows for reliable dust-, splash- and freeze-proofing down to -10°C. Ultimately, this lens is designed by professionals, for professionals and will consistently perform in any adverse weather conditions.
