Perfect spot to explore the Golan region, very close to the Meshushim stream before it enters the reserve (15 minutes walking), so it is possible to go any time. Interesting archeological park, rather important findings on the display. The city is a convenient gateway to a lot of hiking in Galilee, historical places like Tel Hazor, Rujum Hiri, etc. Hula valley is 20 minutes drive, Hermon mountain -less then an hour.

Katzrin is a small town in the center of everything that's...
Katzrin is a small town in the center of everything that's amazing in the Golan. We literally walked out of the hostel and into a nature reserve with a waterfall and natural pools. The is raw nature in every direction. In town, there a few good hummus places and a great winery. We heard there was also a brewery and distillery but didn't visit. The hostel was quite full. I think it's because the town is very well connected by public transport to the rest of Israel.

Small town but seems to have everything in it - supermarkets, plenty of eating out options and very well connected to the rest of the country. I ate at the brewery and had a great wine tasting tour, provided by the hostel. The streets are clean and the whole town is full of natural vegetation. Katzrin is a pleasant town in the Golan.
Katzrin is a pleasant town in the Golan. The best part for us, though, was the museum and the ruins of ancient Katzrin, a Jewish town in Talmudic times. The museum has a lot of fascinating information and displays documenting humans in the Golan from prehistoric times forward.ArlanIsrael
